Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)
In pursuance of UGC Regulations 2015 and the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.

- Preliminary Enquiry: On receipt of a complaint, the ICC conducts a preliminary enquiry to ascertain allegations by collecting documentary evidence and recording statements.
- Reporting: The ICC submits its preliminary report to the Principal along with original documents. Non-harassment complaints are referred to the Grievance Redressal Cell.
- Third-Party Incidents: Where harassment occurs due to an outsider or third party, the ICC takes all necessary preventive and support actions.
- Timebound Proceedings: The inquiry is completed within 90 days, and the report is submitted to the Principal within 10 days of completion. The Principal acts upon recommendations within 60 days.
- Malicious Complaints: If allegations are proved false or malicious, the complainant is liable for disciplinary punishment as per UGC regulations.
Who Can Approach & Definition
Who can approach? Any female employee (faculty member, student, or non-teaching staff member) can seek redressal from the ICC.
Definition of Sexual Harassment: Includes unwelcome sexually inclined behavior, direct or indirect, such as physical contact, demands for sexual favors, sexually colored remarks, showing pornography, or any unwelcome physical, verbal, or non-verbal conduct of a sexual nature. It also covers explicit promises of preferential treatment or threats regarding employment status.
Possible Punitive Actions
Depending upon the severity of the case, punitive actions may include warning, written apology, bond of good behavior, adverse remarks in confidential reports, stopping of increments/promotion, suspension, or dismissal.
Important Caveat
All female faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students must bear in mind that such complaints are of an extremely serious nature and should, on no account, be made in a frivolous manner. This platform should not be misused to settle personal scores or for any non-genuine reason.
